At 22, I walked into a tiny hardwood flooring company with zero experience and an abundance of confidence. What started as answering phones and locking up the office turned into a 35-year career I never could have predicted.
I learned the business from the ground up — literally. When helpers didn't show, I headed to the field. When clients called with questions, I taught myself the answers. I fell in love with the craft, the clients, and the world of custom wood floors.
In February 1998, pregnant with my third child, I launched The Wood Floor Company. I built a team of expert installers — most of whom are still with me today — and went on to serve some of the most discerning clients in the industry, including those investing $100,000 or more in custom solid sand-and-finish projects.
